The Rational Rhythm Of Life
In 1982,I was commissioned as it were, to take photographs of Paul Haig's Rhythm of Life, an Edinburgh based pop group. Haig was already semi-legendary after fronting the band, Joseph K. I was given a date and a place, but then the shoot was abruptly cancelled. I was then told to turn up at their next gig in Valentinos with my camera. I duly did so, but it seemed that half of the art college's budding photographers were there as well. Nevertheless, I submitted my prints to 'New Sounds New Styles' as requested. The one on the left hand page was duly printed in May, 1982. I was sent a cheque for £25. Unfortunately in was in the name of my alias, 'Strummer,' and was uncashable. Extra of the magazine cover.
