We have friends staying over Easter from Mallorca. They wanted to go and see Liverpool play football. Obviously, no chance of getting tickets. Nor, probably, of seeing them play football, either.

Next best thing - a local rugby league derby. The pies had run out by half time. The tea was drinkable. And the visitors spoiled the party by scoring a try in the last minutes of the game.

Official attendance announced over the tannoy was 4563 spectators. Pity another 4 people couldn't have been pulled out of the pub to make it a more satisfying number.
