? Extinct ????????

Another picture from Exeter Albert Memorial Museum . This is supposed to be an extinct predecessor of ours . Well , well ; I am certain that similar specimens are still around . What do you think ? The picture is slightly out of focus ; it was taken vie thick glass but I still like the spirit of it . Thanks for having a look .
