Here And There
Dark thorny branches, silhouetted against a bright sunlit patch of dried grass, drew me into this scene. Thin stems framing the hole focus the eye on what lies beyond. To counteract that tendency, a shallow depth of field softens the distant view, bringing the viewer back to the near side of the opening to consider the camera's outlook and then the photographer himself.
A device perhaps, but the grass is always greener.
