White Scar Caves

What do you do on a wet Good Friday holiday? My clan decided it would be a good idea to go down a show cave in the Yorkshire Dales which was also cold and wet. Our guide Eddie the 'troglodyte' who claimed he was 6ft tall before he started the job but was now only 5ft 6inches due to the number of times he had struck his head on the cave roof described all the rock features for us before leading us 1/2 a mile underground into a huge cavern called the Battlefield that was only discovered in 1970. The walls of the cave where covered in flow stone that looked wet to touch but was strangely dry.
