Horizon Stars.

Back down to the beach today with M. It was only 4.30 but it was so dark already! The ships out in the bay were lit up like Christmas trees, with the moon casting a silver glow over everything - very beautiful. This photo doesn't really do it justice!

Today we didn't get up to much at all... M was working in the morning and I ended up having to pop into the office to sort out an outstanding project. Thankfully, my lovely boss had done most of the work for me (despite it not being his project) so I managed to get to the gym for a quick run before lunch. Poor Mum is still really unwell despite the trip to the hospital yesterday, although she's only taken a day's worth of the antibiotics so far, so she might see an improvement tomorrow. We had a lovely bit of the gammon M had made for lunch, on a chunk of bread with some of Mum's friend's redcurrant jelly. Nothing better!

When M got home, he spent a while fixing the brake pads on the car before heading for our beach-walk. There was still lots of rubbish on the sand, and even more crushed shellfish than yesterday. We disturbed a whole flock of oyster-catchers enjoying a supper of clams and cockles!

Later, we headed home for the leftovers from Christmas dinner - as per tradition, more about the side-dishes than the turkey - which was really quite delicious, before playing a game of double-scrabble (Mum and Dad won against M and I, although only just)! I'm slowly getting better at table-tennis too, and managed to beat Dad tonight. I can't believe Christmas is over already... Every year it zips past quicker. I've had a lovely time with Mum and Dad though; and it's good to have a house big enough to accommodate guests comfortably.
