Ullock Pike

Looks far better large on black

Aimed for a biggish walk today. Started on the road down from Latrigg, walked along the road through Ormathwaite, up Carl Side and onto the summit of Skiddaw.

Just as we neared the top of Carl Side, the view over to Ullock Pike was amazing, with great light grazing the near edge of the Pike. 4- shot stitched panorama.

We had amazing weather contrasts today, as we started up Carl Side, I was regretting putting on winter trousers, and my down jacket and softshell were in my bag. As we crested Skiddaw, within 20 yards the weather went bitterly cold (about -10) with almost no visibility, high winds and frozen rain. My fingers and face really hurt from the cold.

As we descended back to Latrigg, it got really warm again!

This time of year really is silly season for the weather.
