I spent the day at the Great Central Railway for a Diesel running day. It was my intention to blip a photo of a train, especially as it was quite a nice sunny day. But I went down to the engine shed at Loughborough and saw this chap working away at a bit of metal on a laithe and I thought it would make a nice character study.

I converted it to mono and added a bit of grain to it as I thought it suited the image and subject matter, and got rid of the slightly distracting jumble of colours in the workshop.
