It needed a trim (don’t we all)

The Buddleia did not get it’s usual cut back last autumn and was getting quite high - see extra. As it also tends to overhang my neighbour’s fence I decided to try to cut off those branches. I only have secateurs (the lady who normally trims it uses a small chainsaw) but it was easier than I thought. Having done that bit I texted a photo to my horticultural friend who advised me if possible to take the rest of it down to the level of the fence. So I did! Then I had to break up the debris and borrow my neighbour’s green bin in order to get rid of it all. A good morning’s work, I think. The birds didn’t worry  - they were back on the bird table within minutes of me going back indoors.
