Poor Amelie is still not well. She was in with us through the night and had loads of drinks of water (good) and seemed happier and her fever broke. But she proceeded to sleep until 10am and was utterly miserable when she woke. She was tearful, refusing to drink and refusing to eat.
And so it continued for the rest of the day.
This was her having a sleep which I thought might help. It didn't.
I eventually phoned the out of hours Dr. Obviously she had no fever, no more sickness and had drank the smallest amount (but enough to ensure she was weeing) but I just felt she needed to be checked, especially as she was now complaining of being cold.
We had to drive her to an open medical centre in Dorking where she was checked over. Turns out her throat is a little pink, tonsils are inflamed and glands are slightly swollen which could mean its an upper respiratory thing which has caused the fever and hence the sickness rather than a straight forward bug. Apparently her temp is okay and she isn't dehydrated so we have just to keep an eye.
On the way home I nipped into Tesco and got her a new DVD to watch (we are driven demented with her current selection) and some plastic jewellery. This cheered her up for about half an hour, along with a bath, and now she is watching the film but asking to go to bed.
Really going she gets a decent sleep and feels better tomorrow. She just doesn't know what to do with herself :(
