Monster trees

This tree looks like it's got a big grizzly hand about to reach out and attack.

Dinner last night was great. I highly recommend The Old Bridge Inn. We went there again go a post cycle beer today.

The plan today had been to take Niall on the same route that I did yesterday, but starting in Aviemore. It was all going great until about 10 miles in when my chain got upset and broke the rear mech. We'd come out without a chain tool so not much we could do (lesson learnt there, carry a chain tool and know how to use it). Fortunately another group of cyclists assisted and got the chain and mech off, meaning I had a very expensive scooter to free wheel back to Aviemore. This would have been fine if it was a gentle downhill all the way, it wasn't. I walked parts and Niall pushed me for quite a long way.

Stopped for lunch at the lovely Rothiemurchus Cafe, then went off in search of Bothy Bikes (unfortunately no longer in Rothiemurchus). We didn't have high hopes of greeting it sorted, but in no time at all we were back on the trail. I can't thank them enough.

We might try and do the bit we missed in the morning.
