Shinty Karma...

What a shock when I woke up in the early hours of this mornig and realised I'd forgotten to take a blip yesterday...after 425 consecutive entries. Ah well, maybe I'll go another 425 without a break.
Anyway the weather today was beautiful, and in Scotland it was the first day of the shinty season. so took a drive up to Inveraray to watch the local team playing Fort William.
Shinty, for the uninitiated, is a violent form of field hockey - not unlike the Irish game of hurling. The chap being treated in the photo got an opponent's stick - known as a caman - in the face. Cue a lot of blood and foul-mouthed recriminations.
Mind you he had spent most of the game mouthing off at anything and everything so maybe he deserved his clatter.
Final score 1-0 to Inveraray.
