Flatwoods Plum

Our Flatwoods Plum, Prunus umbellata, trees are in full bloom (see the *extra). They are small Florida native trees which produce quite spectacular white flowers and then small fruits. The critters enjoy the fruit but as for human tastes it can range from very tart to sweet. Can't say that I've ever tasted anything made from it. I did buy some Chicasaw Plum jelly once and I remember it being delicious. We also have a Chicasaw Plum tree, hmmm!
