La Maison du Lac

We used to rent this chalet in the heart of Villars ski area (Bretaye) for our family holidays for over 10 years, usually over Christmas/New Year. This was before we lived in Switzerland. Many happy memories! The only access in winter is by mountain railway and then skidoo, ski or snowy walk. It was always a great adventure... we started going there when our children were about 2 and 5. 
Today I just woke up feeling sad. We had lovely family skypes yesterday but I just miss them so much and don't have any idea when we will be allowed to travel to uk (or them here) to see each other. Had to get to work so a welcome distraction then we went skiing for the first time properly this season. It was a lovely day and very quiet. Has been a busy rest of the day with school planning for the rest of the week and jobs around house and garden so have tried hard not to dwell on the situation I have no control over.
