The kettle's on, so don't be long...
Bit of a farcical start to the day.
David took Lola up to the moor for her morning walk as usual. Met friends T & V there for a socially distanced walk with their Golden Retriever Milly (Lola's best pal)
After a lovely walk in the warm sunshine, they returned to the car, Lola got in the boot, David put his jacket and phone on the back seat, closed the door and the car went into its own form of lockdown and none of the doors would open! This is a recent on-going problem with the car's computer system. Doors not opening, then opening and not closing.
He tried everything, including the spare key and was able to get Lola back out of the boot but the other doors were shut tight. T & V headed home with Milly and T returned with a flask of coffee for David. After a few more tries, front passenger door opened so David had to climb over into the driver's seat and thankfully got home. Not wanting to risk Lola getting stuck in the boot again, she got a lift home in T's Porsche. She's very honoured as her pal Milly hasn't been in it. She promised not to tell ;-))
As David's phone had been locked in the car, V kindly let me know what had happened. I had been starting to wonder where they were but assumed since it was such a lovely day, they'd decided to walk further.
As a thank you for their help, I thought I would make scones for T&V but as I looked out the ingredients I discovered we had no eggs. We always have eggs! Quick rethink saw me making Empire biscuits instead. David took some round to T&V and reports have been received confirming they enjoyed them very much :-)
Started my next crochet project this evening. It's a blanket/throw for the bed in the small guest room. Back to using chunky wool, which crochets quite quickly.
It's been such a lovely day today we have made the decision to open the Gin Palace early. We usually give it a Spring clean and get it ready at the beginning of April, but we would have enjoyed sitting in it this afternoon so will get our act together early this year.
Of course that will be the cue for more heavy snow!
