Back in the garden

Been too hot the last week to do any work in the garden! Today found the first crocus just opening its buds. Can't believe it. Actually was only pleasant today in a wind sheltered spot despite wonderful sunshine all day.

Have started replacing a chain link fence around our vegetable lot and greenhouse which had suffered damage over the years from my careless tractor driving and from the awful weeds that love using it as a support but when removed with a strimmer the seeds get sprayed into the veg plot making things worse.

Evening dog walk with Luna in the forest simply to avoid the wind. The sun in our faces would have been nice. First time I guess in more than a year that I have simply used the walk going out through our back gate into the forest, Either been too wet, deep in snow, grass too long etc, but today it was good and relatively dry. Watched a deer have a snooze in front of our kitchen window for a good 3 hours - just 10-15m from the house and ignoring all our comings and goings.
