Volunteering

Sam helped out for over 5 hours at an Aberdeenshire semi ancient woodland, digging drainage, hauling gravel and reclaiming paths from muddy quagmires today, his boots tell the story. When i picked him up at teatime i walked the site with Sam and the site manager. We've lost so much mixed, ancient woodlands in Scotland, it's a rare sensation to walk them, a special atmosphere in their knolls and hollows, glimpses of what we could get back.
