Gwen Hardie - artist

Three Scots artists in one family came together tonight for the opening of their exhibition "Skin Over Bone", at Stirling University.

The talented Hardie family -painter Jim and his two daughters Amy ( filmmaker) and Gwen-( painter) shared the exhibition.

Gwen (pictured) had flown in from New York where she is now based . Amy showed a very moving film based on working with patients in Strathcarron hospice.

The idea to show the Hardie family together for the first time was the concept of University curator Jane Cameron.

"When I met James Hardie and his daughters last year I encountered three distinct individuals. Each artist was able to describe a ahighly unique, personal search for true idenity although they are obviously united by their close family connection," said Jane.
