Collared Dove - 27
Tuesday seems to be the day for our Roughlow walk and a chance to support the local cafe by buying a coffee and cake to take home. We counted the birds again today and got 22 so my theory that you can guarantee to spot 23 to 25 different types pretty much stands up. Surprisingly we missed out on 2 I could almost guarantee, the wren and magpie, but we did see goldcrest, redwing and raven which are probably more unusual. If you combined the two days it would have been about 30 types so I think a good day would be the high 20s early 30s and is not an unreasonable number to spot.
This collared dove was in a barn on Willington Road.

Lands End to John O'Groats 1000 Mile Virtual Challenge Update
Day 23 - Devon. 4.5 miles walked. 118.9 miles completed.
The route has improved now I'm off the Devon Expressway and I passed through Dartington and ended on the outskirts of Totnes. Today's stop was at the New Lion Brewery in Dartington where I bought two virtual bottles, one Mane Event and one Pandit IPA, before going next door to the Almond Thief for a virtual Chicken Tikka Masala and a bag of virtual croissants for the morning.
Puffin is also doing a virtual walk/swim along Hadrians Wall which seems to be a much more cultural experience. :)
