Not beautiful, but maybe interesting

Walking into the city centre, my usual route which is the riverside pathway, to the left of the river as you look at it here.  This is the mighty river Avon.  It’s tidal at this point, and that’s why it’s so full, because the tide is rising, and the water is flowing upstream. The houses in the distance, together with the church with the green spire, are part of Totterdown, which is where I live. A very apt name- as you can see it’s really hilly, and includes the steepest inhabited street in England. The white bridge in the foreground is a white elephant. It was built recently as a pedestrian link to to area on the right - where a splendid 10,000 seat arena was going to be built.  Bristol is a big city to have no major venue for music events.  But the arena plan has been scrapped now, and the island where it was to be remains a sea of mud.
The reason I was walking to the centre this morning was to start my new volunteer job.  More of that later :)
