Jack Anthony born in Denniston, Glasgow in 1900.
Appeared in few films such as “The Texas Tornado” & The Fighting Marine” and laterally appeared in uncredited in “77 Sunset Strip” and Dr Kildare in1961 a year before he died in Dunbar. He bought The Roxburghe Hotel there so must have made some money in his film career. Auntie was a big fan of him and saw him many times on stage. Her birthday was in fact April Fools Day (1st).

This is another relic from my aunt’s belongings and you will see the address on the envelope was 177 Fountainbridge, Edinburgh her neighbour was a certain Sean (Tam) Connery who lived in 176 with his Mum & Dad. Auntie used to have plenty stories about her days there. Sadly the tenements have been knocked down.
