Pop of blue
I love the colour of these irises. So deep and vivid. Also love the structure.
I went for a short (3.5 miles) walk with Val. We have not seen each other since summer although she lives along the road. She was nervous of meeting people even outside. I think she is more confident now she’s had a vaccination. She has had a bad time with atrial fibrillation but now she’s getting used to the medication she’s doing better. When I told her about Mr C’s heart scan (on 1 April) she said she’s thought he had looked unwell for some time. Just what I needed to hear after having dreamt last night I was trying to organise a helicopter evacuation for him from Falls of Glomach.
On an optimistic note we have booked our round England van trip for June. Apparently camp sites open on 12 April. We’ll have some time on sites and other nights on friends’ drives in Gloucester, Somerset, Cornwall, Devon and Suffolk. It will be lovely to catch up and hopefully eat out of doors together. I feel starved of a social life though I know I’m lucky having women friends locally who like to walk too.
I know so many fellow blippers are fed up just now. The promised spring did not really materialise - the sea fret rolled up the valley yesterday and it’s been a damp 4 degrees today. The forecast is for snow next week - I hope that’s wrong.
I’m reading The Nickel Boys by Colson Whitehead for Book Group 2. It promises to be another depressing one.
