Camera club

It's been non-stop today! And it is late and I am tired so will keep this brief.

Dropped G off at Mercato for her bi-weekly chess club. Today, they were also saying farewell to Pauline, so G had to take some goodies to eat. She was up very early as she suddenly had the inspiration to write a song for Pauline to the tune of Que Sera Sera! It went down well, I am told.

In between dropping her off and picking her up again, I got a few things done in the flat including producing a new video. We had pizza for lunch and then about thirty minutes to get ready for the next thing, which was showing our friend David the spots we go to to get pictures! He sees things I post on Facebook and wanted to see "our" Dubai.

We had four hours and started in Za'abeel which is the adjoining area to us. This is where we usually see peacocks and hoopoes and other bird species. I think it must be siesta time as there weren't many peacocks out and about. We even drove David up our Mall to show him Sheikh Mohammed's Palace. Then to Ras Al Khor to see the flamingos.

We have not been here for the longest time. They have opened the hide and monitor visitors so that there are never more than five people in it at any given time. My blip is one of the better shots I managed.

Next to Al Jadaf Walk where I got this picture around ten days ago. The day was hazy and the sun was too high in the sky, but David was pleased as it made for a nice silhouette. (See extra)

We then headed to the Sol Sky Bar to catch the light changing on the Creek. I guess we are out of winter sun time so the changes weren't as dramatic as we've enjoyed the last few months. It was great to have an unhurried trip here just taking it all in and chatting about stuff - mainly the history of the buildings on the Creek. D is impressed with my knowledge/history of them! We got home with fifteen minutes to spare before Life Group started. Enough time to wash our faces and eat a slice of pizza each. I have to say, I was tired and in danger of falling asleep in front of the camera! We went on for an hour and a half and when we finally finished, I had a message from another David (in Canada - he helps me with my YT channel) asking if I was ready for a Zoom call.

I was all set up so it made sense to chat then. An hour later I was able to download the pics we took and go through them to do today's journal. I haven't had a chance to look at the time-lapse videos I made on my phone... Tomorrow is busy too, though not as hectic as today. The weekend is in sight. :))
