Trippin' The Light Fandango

Today's image looks quite glamorous (hence the title) but this was actually taken from a service road to a local retail park looking into a branch of Nando's! I do like the design of Nando's restaurants but unfortunately I'm not a great fan of their food! I can't quite see what the fuss is about and find it a bit overpriced.

The title also references the phrase 'tripping the light fantastic'. This phrase is thought to originate from a poem by John Milton (L'Allegro) - with the words 'Come, and trip it, as you go/ On the light fantastic toe'.
The best known example, however, is probably from the 1894 song "The Sidewalks Of New York" - "Boys and girls together/me and Maime O'Rourke/tripped the light fantastic/on the sidewalks of New York". In this context it means to dance lightly and with extravagance. Combining these two references yields the title "tripping the light fandango". You could also include Procul Harem's 1967 hit A Whiter Shade of Pale - specifically the lyrics "We skipped the light fandango".
From a distance today's image does look more like a glamorous club where you could dance lightly and extravagantly than a branch of Nando's!

My sister had an operation on her broken wrist yesterday - she had to have a metal plate and screws fitted. She is still in quite a lot of pain but hopefully on the road to recovery. Get well soon sis.
