Pepper’s Wood

A walk around Pepper’s Wood! We were surprised by the quite radical developments we found. These are swales and bunds, designed to retain water in the hills above Kendal. We are rather puzzled by the placement of some of them, in a dry valley. It’s being done by the CWT so presumably they have a plan! It will be interesting to see how the land recovers, it was a rather lovely bluebell wood! Let’s hope it is beneficial.
