Fiona Tuesday
We finished our book today! Fiona texted early ..could we start early (45 min) because there was a lot to do today! Of course. First time we’ve had a book read to us on FaceTime, 1 or 2 chapters at a time, 295 pages! I think she started last spring... maybe it was summer....can’t believe she read it all to us! Soooo good. Out of my Mind by Sharon Draper. About a 10 year old girl who can’t talk or walk but is her own intelligent spirited person to whom words are very important. ( she has a speaker board) So we had to talk about what to read next and she read a few poems she’s written for school, including one from today about her school. ( with explanations) Big discussion about getting back to the spring play (?) and graduation. AS WE WERE TALKING, the news came thru that Washington’s governor has now stated that all teachers can immediately get their vacccine. Good news ( a little late ) but maybe they will see some school. Gives hope.
Extra is the artwork done by all the 7 kids in the newest PMV family in their PMV house. I think she made drawings by them all at several different ages. There are also 9 pets. I started to talk about all these people in our environment but was told the. PMV world doesn’t need to worry about food and fuel... there are only 650 people.
2 1/4 hours nonstop talking.... she is a love! We are blessed. Whew.
After 2+ hours of book club talking about Virginia Woolf’s novel, Flush, about Elizabeth Barrett Browning’s cocker spaniel. Very fun. Good discussion. Always love talking Bloomsbury!
Not sure I can turn on the computer one more time for our opera history class.....
