Holding on...

I love the way the beech (confirmed...thanks to HClaireB) holds onto its leaves, even as we see the first signs of spring. I've been trying to get a photo that I'm happy with for a while, and the mist and soft light this morning helped. Goggle has suggested this phenomena is called marcescence.
