Night sky

So this is a Blip is a bit of a cheat - I actually took it last night rather than today (normally I am very strict with myself about the photo matching the exact date). 

At 9pm I was struck by a sudden urge to try some night time photography, so grabbed a camera and tripod and headed out. The sky was beautifully clear, and living at the edge of the city I am lucky to be away from most of the light pollution. 

I was quite pleased with the result in the end - using a head torch to "paint" the foreground trees proved reasonably effective. The purple hue in the sky wasn't visible to the eye, so I found this quite a surreal exposure overall.
