Exuberant

Compared with the last lot of tulips on the table in the living room, these are positively exuberant, and I much prefer this colour! Nice and cheerful, which can only be good on such a cold, grey, cheerless day.

Another very quiet day. Lots of inconsequential but necessary items ticked off the to do list, exercise on the bike, and a lovely long chat with Lucy on the phone this evening.

Later I contemplated the unfinished decoration in the hall, all the work we still need to do on our flat, and whether we can still afford to do what we'd planned. Nearly six years in, it would be very good to get it finished! It seems that Boris Johnson, funnily enough, has no such worries. Apparently, refurbishment of his Downing Street flat is complete, and reportedly cost over "a hundred grand". He's now planning to set up a charity to cover the cost. There are no printable words to describe what I think of our PM...
