No user serviceable parts inside

We’ve had a couple of alarms on our intruder system whilst it has not been armed - one at 2.30 in the morning. The message said one of the detectors had been tampered with, but the sensor was clearly fitted properly and so I took it out and removed the address. Everything good so far so I guess the sensor is faulty. I’m reluctant to put it back to prove it......
