Ornamentation

Working in the north wing loft today isolating some of the six(!) Weird Bathroom lights before removing them.  Came across yet another vestige of the servant bell system.  

Not seen a joint this sophisticated or ornamented before.  It might be sprung (or it might be that the wire is under a mass of fibreglass).  

Excuse the quality.  This is a reach, hope and fire photo from the phone as I couldn't get to see this myself without decorating myself with yet more Victorian cobwebs.
