The Mighty Columbia River

Is the largest river in the Pacific Northwest of N. America. It's 1243 miles long with a drainage basin the size of France. I've often dreamt of taking a barge from one end to the other stopping off to ski every ski hill along its path. There's a lot of them, one of them being Revelstoke where we are and Mt. Hood, Oregon the last one before it meets the Pacific Ocean.
