Magnolia
The trees certainly think it is spring even though March can be quite fickle. The magnolia has burst forth just in the last couple of days. I had a meeting this morning with a councillor from the Mairie and two people from an organisation that helps support renewable energy projects. We looked at the beautiful cast iron radiators and the one hundred year old boiler and discussed the possibly of restoration using a wood chip boiler. We also discussed the possibility of using the geothermal hot water that flows under the village. A further meeting is pencilled in with the Maire. I caught up with the cricket in the afternoon and started reading Manon des Sources, the sequel to Jean de Florette which I have just finished. I found the 1952 film by Marcel Pagnol on Youtube. It is rare that a book is written from a film. I shall watch it when I have finished the book. I have discovered that the Kindle has a dictionary feature which is much easier than searching on my phone for words I don't know. It is no good for the words of Provençal dialect though!
