Experiment

Well, this was our experiment controlling my camera with the phone and putting it on the monopod so that we could hang it over the side of the weir close to the water (no cameras were drowned in this experiment). Not perfect, not least because the light was grey and flat, and there isn’t much water in the Water of Leith, but interesting none the less. We’ll go back and do it again when it’s warmer (my hands froze very rapidly), sunnier and wetter (in the sense of being the day after a big rain shower).

But it was fun, and a good way to relax after we’d listened in via the internet to SK’s funeral. The tribute to SK was marvellous. We both learned a lot - a surprisingly large amount for me, given it was 35 years ago that I first met him. But it was, of course, a sad occasion, and made worse by the current horrible conditions for a funeral. You can hardly do justice to a man of SK’s achievements when you can only have 20 people there. Hopefully, there will be some sort of memorial event when we can gather again in person. Meanwhile, we’re raising a glass to him this evening.

Nothing else to say today....
