Kitbag
Up in one of our lofts today, removing almost the last bits of stuff, I came across my father's old kitbag, from around 1943, lying on my rather horrible plastic one from the 1980s. It was useful as it gave me his Service number and enabled me and my mother to access his war record. It was mostly gobbledygook, with many abbreviations that I didn't understand, but it was great to feel closer to him again. He died in 1982.
