It’s been World Book Day. I love reading and D has taken it up more seriously in recent years. My favourite authors are Jodi Picoult, Anita Shrive, Philippa Gregory and Joanne Harris. I’ve just started the sequel to Tidelands by Philippa Gregory, called Dark Tides. She writes history so well! Great novels. It’s a hardback as I couldn’t wait for the paperback to come out. An expensive indulgence.

Also on these shelves is my CSLewis Narnia collection and my Shakespeare for children books. Very useful for a quick recap before a visit to the RSC.

We heard that Esmée went to nursery as Harry and the bucketful of dinosaurs, wearing her Dino jumper and carrying a bucket with her diplodocus inside. This evening she enjoyed a long story from one of Thomas the Tank Engine books.

Great run this morning. It was cold!
