Sparrow Sentry
There's lots of activity going on with the sparrows who occupy many houses all year on the side of our attached barn. I used my 300 mm from the back doorstep to spy on this sparrow sentry who was guarding his domain.
I got up early this morning and logged on to the 'Hunger Games' search for Covid 19 Vaccine appointments. New vaccine supplies are allocated to providers on Thursdays in Massachusetts and then the games( not fun) are on. The search is usually fruitless, but I tried anyway and managed to get an appointment on March 24th for my second Pfizer shot. My first dose on Monday was a leftover dose that would have expired and been discarded if not used after a mobile clinic. The CVS pharmacy where I was inoculated acts as a 'depot' for the mobile clinic, providing proper refrigeration. They do not regularly administer the Covid-19 shots. So, I knew I would have to find my second dose myself. By a miracle I did at 6:15 this morning. It's at a CVS Pharmacy in Holbrook, a nearby town. I am thrilled and relieved.
Tomorrow my Zoom painting group will meet from 9:30 to 1, then we have a Chimney Sweep coming to check the chimney and flue connected to the either dirty or dead steam boiler. When it 'sooted up' it may have done the same to the flue and chimney. Those connecting parts have to be checked before we begin to have it cleaned, or replaced. We're moving along in our heating saga, but we have a long way to go. We're warm and not rushing into anything and getting estimates and opinions. It's an expensive replacement.
For the Record,
This day came in sunny and cold, but spring is in the air even if March and April weather can still be cruel.
All hands wary and thankful for Covid vaccines.
