Spoonbill
Another busy sort of day, with an hour this morning trying to find, then creep up on these guys - we managed to get some photos before they took off. Luckily I was on rapid so managed to get some photos as they took off. This spoonbill hasn't four legs, there is another bird right behind him. Others on Facebook.
The "shaky isles" lived up to their name today with three rather strong earthquakes, one off the coast of Gisborne overnight which was felt through out New Zealand, then two even stronger ones further north near the uninhabited Kermadec Islands (the strongest being 8.1) These set of Tsunami alerts for the east and west coast of the upper North Island. Coastal folk had to move inland and to higher ground, fortunately these didn't come to the severity that was first thought. The cautious approach has to be the best. Hundred of after shocks continue to be felt.
On better news, Auckland will return to Level 2 at 6am on Sunday and the rest of the country will be back to normal (level 1). It has been five covid free days since the community out breakof fifteen a couple of weeks ago.
