Wood in a rock face
I have been fascinated by this rotting piece of wood in the rock face of the disused railway cutting ever since I spotted it. There are sections of where the rock was cut away to form the line of the railway which have stone walls within them to secure the embankment. This large wooden post was obviously inserted for a purpose that has long gone. I like to think of it as a decaying sculpture to the now discarded engineering.
One of those days when I feel I have not achieved anything that I planned but have been busy throughout with a little shopping (the first for many, many months); telephone call with Jon; and a visit to Ms S's sister to wish her a socially distanced happy birthday.
