Here we go again – Day 60

Day 60? This lock down is going on for far longer than the first one?! And Ann has just read that Edinburgh and East Lothian are the two areas in the whole of the UK to have seen the biggest change in the Covid-19 case rate in the last two weeks. Apparently no other areas in the UK have seen increases, per 100,000 of population, so significant. You can read about it here.

Mmmmmm..................... we suspect that's because most people aren't following the rules. They can't possibly be, because the amount of traffic on the roads around where we live is as busy as it would be if we weren't in lock down. During first lock down I could have done my whole walk down the middle of the main road and we never had to wait at pedestrianised crossings to cross the road. And we have to admit, we're not following the rules as stringently as we were during first lock down. ….......We've been on buses, We've been in the car to go to exciting places for my walks, Ann's been to the supermarket more than once a week................... She would never have dreamt of doing any of that during first lock down.

Having said that; all the 'rule breaking' we're doing; we're doing by ourselves. We really don't understand why coffee shops & takeaways should be open. They're not 'essential' and yet people are quite happy to stand in queues for a coffee??!! Duh! In first lock down there were queues outside all the supermarkets. Now there's only queues outside Waitrose and M&S on a Saturday posh people still seem to shop on a Saturday but no queues outside any other supermarket, presumably because all the takeaways are open and people are buying their food from elsewhere. Who knows?

…...............And now Nicola is on the TV wittering on about how we might be able to meet more than one person outdoors earlier than expected. Mmmmmm.................. that's not actually true.................. she's talking about 'households' not single people.

The way things are going, for single people like my human, she's only going to be able to meet one person outdoors for the foreseeable future. It would be nice to meet four single friends in the park.  Actually it would be nice to  meet all of our friends in the park or outdoors somewhere, even though it's mega cold outside. Roll on the time when we can actually have more than just our support bubble in our house!!   The way things are going that's not going to be possible for a long time yet. And yet a household that consists of 5 adults (who are all going to work/uni/wherever) are going to be allowed to meet up with another household. #theworldhasgonemad

OK we'll stop ranting now!..........................

Went on a big, long, walk this morning. We were out for more than 3 hours, so this afternoon I only walked for about half an hour. Ann forgot to take any photos of me this morning so this afternoon she photographed me sitting in amongst the purple crocuses wearing my purple collar & lead. #HowcolourcoordinatedamI

And here we are, another Friday night in lock down. I've had my dinner, Ann's just about to make Chicken Stirfry and then we've got an evening watching 'Corrie & EastEnders' to look forward to.
