Catkins

The hazel trees around us are bursting out all over and these golden tassels are the result. Unfortunately there was no golden sun today to light them up. Not only was it a grey day, it was a very cold grey day. There had been quite a hard frost overnight, so much so that the pond had a good covering of ice. I just hope that the plants that I dug up and moved yesterday will survive this trauma.
