WILD TURKEY
There's a whisky named Wild Turkey.....this isn't it. These are truly wild birds (Meleagris gallopavo), the largest of the Gallinaceous or Chicken-like birds native to Wisconsin. Related birds, although much smaller, are various species of Grouse and the Prairie Chickens.
With the recent splurge of warm weather, the snow is rapidly melting and these ever hungry birds are scratching through the snowless areas looking for waste grain from previous harvests.
