Deer Day
Three muntjac deer were grazing in the distance when we walked round the lake this morning. I think it is the first time that I've got three of these animals in the same frame. They are solitary beasts, they don't congregate in herds like other deer. The buck is on the right of my image. The two does look as if they might be pregnant. Muntjacs don't have a rutting season, they can breed at any time.
I spotted the herd of more than fifty fallow deer at Bumbles Green. The main antlered buck is near the centre of the image with his head down.
