Quadrophenia
We arrived in Brighton at lunchtime, but were a bit early to check into our hotel room, so we went for a walk along the sea front with Louis. I was taking some photos of the Pier when Alan noticed a huge group of Mods on mopeds. I took a few photos, but particularly like this one where part of the group got stopped at the traffic lights - I love the moped in the middle with all the lights on it and his Union Jack helmet.
It's unusual to see so many mopeds together, and as Brighton was one of the seaside towns where the Mods & the Rockers headed to for riots in the early 1960's, I thought I'd blip this instead of my planned blip of the Pier. It reminds of The Who and Quadrophenia.
We then headed to the Lanes shopping area and found a lovely little Tapas bar, but as the UK isn't particularly dog friendly, we didn't think we'd be able to eat there with having Louis with us. I popped in anyway to ask if it was possible, and the owner said that as long as the other diners didn't mind it was fine. Fortunately no-one objected, so we were allowed in and they even brought Louis a bowl of water. Of course he's used to the restaurant scene in Belgium and France, so it didn't faze him at all, he was as good as gold and no-one even knew he was there.
We're now checked into the hotel and have dropped our bags off, and the sun's shining, so we're now heading back out to do a bit of exploring.
