We have been sponsoring Newton since he was 5 years old and have received regular letters and photos over the past 12 years. They are written by him in his native language (Filipino) and then translated into English for us. (When he was young they were dictated by his mum to a worker and then translated).
In this latest one, he tells us that he's had a recent crash (!) but he's ok and he's now working to support his family.
'Compassion' has proved itself to be an amazing charity. Through local church projects, they give children education, healthcare, fun & social activities, food etc. so that they can break the chains of poverty. In this letter, he also tells us that the family have been receiving food, medicine and extra support through the pandemic and he has been facilitated to continue his learning online.
