The Wendover Arm - derelict...not quite

This is a shot of the Wendover Arm Canal which once linked Wendover to the Grand Union Canal at Bulbourne. It was built to carry water from the Chiltern Hills at Wendover to top up the Grand Union Canal.

Built in 1799, it was operational for 100 years and slowly deteriorated following a series of problems.

In 1989 the Wendover Arm trust was formed and they are gradually rebuilding the canal, mainly with volunteer labour.
