The Knee Scooter...
...has given John a new lease on life...he can get anywhere in the house on it without feeling like he is going to kill himself, and can even have his hands free to make his own lunch....
I think the side effects of my second flu vaccination (Moderna) were probably exacerbated by the various stresses of the last week, but I am finally feeling back to normal again. I have a theory that women seem to be more prone to side effects than men, but our neighbor, who is a doctor, has a theory that perhaps people who don't have any side effects have already had Covid 19 without knowing it. John hasn't had any, not even a sore arm from his first shot (Pfizer).
For whatever reason, I am now feeling much better and much less overwhelmed by life as it is right now. I managed to get back to my quilt and with a couple more days like today, I should be able to finish it. While
sewing, I listened to a podcast called 'Dolly Parton's America. I probably would never have listened to it if Dana hadn't recommended it and I still have quite a few more episodes to go, but she is a truly remarkable person and I am loving it...and her.
Our neighbors came over this afternoon for a glass of wine and a chat. It was their stairs John fell down and they feel responsible, which of course they aren't. It was nice to see them and sit outside for awhile before moving into the yellow chairs. We have now all been at least partially vaccinated and decided that it would be safe to take a chance....
It was a nice visit and good for everybody's morale.
