Level 2 Day 2
This is somewhat of a lazy blip tonight, as I’ve been inside working for most of the day, emerging only to buy some red socks in anticipation of the America’s Cup Match starting on Wednesday, albeit with only spectator boats able to view the racing up close. Being in Level 2, there won’t be any crowds or volunteers in the Cup Village to lend atmosphere to the event. Fingers crossed we’ll be back to Level 1 on Saturday. The blip shows a photo of Emirates Team New Zealand’s Te Rehutai and Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli. Team New Zealand is the Defender and Luna Rossa the Challenger.
The reason for the red socks is told in this story - https://www.blakenz.org/2020/03/18/red-socks-black-magic/.
I well remember the way just about everyone in New Zealand wore red socks in 1995, and the again to mark the untimely death of Sir Peter Blake. Hopefully they’ll work their magic again this year.
