Sandwath

We were going to Weasdale Nurseries to pick up some hedgerow saplings and, as we headed into the mist covered hills in this lonely part of the world just outside Newbiggin-on-Lune, I noticed this little bridge. I was quite taken with the corner, the bridge, the moss covered wall and tree. I think the stream is Sandwath Beck, which is one of the many becks joining the the River Lune as it makes its way from the source at St Helen's Well. 

No link with International Women's Day, but I have enjoyed listening to Radio 3 where they have played music by female composers for the whole day. Some lovely and interesting music, I have a list of artists to look up.
