Decontamination

Over the years that I have been a firefighter I have seen the job evolving.

From the simple (yet sometimes complex to deal with) house fires and Road Traffic Collisions, to what we get called to be involved with today.

The difficult issues that face the world are often the ones that the emergency services have to deal with "first hand".

This is our decontamination unit... Primarily for firefighters.

If we come into contact with some "nasty substances", then we have to find a way to "clean ourselves" before heading off to our next destination.

And with all the kit that we have on the station, there has to be a continuing training program so if we are called to use it "in anger", we will be able to respond and deal with the incident in an effective and conclusive manner.
